evening Day 14 Eden

Well the countdown to home coming is on. The doctors explained to us that Dave’s stem cells are like a fetus growing inside of him and maturing. It will take time for them to grow and develop and become the new neuronal stem cells that he so needs; we cannot be impatient for results. The neuronal stem cells are the most highly specialized of all stem cells and take months to function properly. He is in the process of being healed, but there is a lot of work to do, a lot of damage to reverse. He will get at least two boosters this year that will be needed to work with the platform that has been laid now. There will be a major change in what he can eat and use…..all organic foods, no gluten, no sugar, no preservatives, no red meat (except buffalo occasionally)….all organic toiletries, and household cleaners. He will need blood work monthly to monitor results. He will be in rehab to start to rebuild muscles that have died (we need to pray that the fasciculations stop first) and to improve lung function. Good thing he has Cindy to watch out for him, huh????

Hi Dave & Cindy Well this sounds a farewell to Belize for all of you. I want to thank your Sister for all the great pictures. It was great that I was able to keep in touch. Dave enjoy your trip home & do what ever Cindy's tells you as she is a great nurse & wants to keep you on forever as we all do. You know there might be nice looking airline Stewardes Dave but just keep looking but don't touch. Just kidding. I will keep in touch with you when you get home. The grandchildren will be anxious to se Papa & Gramma. We are all keeping you in our prayers. Love you Your favorite Aunt Marie

Farewell to Belize, hello Va Beach. When it's all said and done, there's no place like home. Of course you know that from a lifetime of travel. Looking forward to being able to see you when conditions allow. Have a safe trip and we'll see you soon. Very happy things went so well, now the hard part, the long road to recovery. Through that we will hold you in our thoughts and prayers and hope it goes fast and complete.

Dave, We know the road to recovery is going to be challenging and you have always been up to a good challenge. I want you and Cindy to know that we are here if you need anything. A phone call away. Keep the faith, keep smiling, and God will take care of the rest.

Looking forward to talking to you soon
Have a safe trip home

Hi David,
I am so hyped up by every entry you post on the blog. The hope that is at the clinic is so amazing. I know with the doctors' knowledge and God's guidance you are going to be healed. Reading the entries has been such an inspiration. It wil be good for you to get home. Cindy is the best nurse you could ever want. She will take good care of her man. I wish I could get up there to see you some time this summer. Maybe we can. Emily is coming for the summer. Michelle is flying out with her on June 2nd. I am having a B-day party for Wayne that afternoon. I won't be able to cook too much but catering is the operative word for this party. Have a safe comfortable trip back home. That last picture of you was great. You looked rested and healthier. Thank you Belize. Again, have a safe trip and God bless you.

Love, Jeanne

Wow ! ! ! Lots of changes . . . I am assuming they are sending along some suggestions for preparing foods and where you find organic toiletries and cleaners . . . never realized the household cleaners would have an effect. So many things to think about and remember. No one is allowed to start getting dementia any time soon ! ! ! Seriously, Cindy, if you need help finding some of the things you will need, please just put the word out and you know you have a whole army of people that will help find whatever it is you need.

This blog has certainly made it easy to do that . . . I think this should be continued so we can all stay posted on celebrations and needs. Not necessarily on a daily basis when you all are home but maybe weekly or every couple weeks at that point.

I know you must be busy saying good-bye to everyone today and getting ready for your long trip home . . . rest up and we will see you when you get here.

Lots of Love and Blessings to all the Staff at Eden and to you Beanie, Cindy & David.

Bev

Hi David and all,
I have been reading along since the beginning and have been talking to the kids and Bev for updates. I have been extremely inspired and impressed by your bravery for going through all of this, by Cindy's commitment to you and by Beanie's dedication to her sister and brother in law and to all of the kids and grandkids and everyone else's love and faith that has been shown in the last month or so that we have been priviledged to be a part of your journey. As my mom (Harriet) always said (and I have repeated it many times in my life), a knock is a boost. This family has been boosted. Everything happens for a reason. You always just have to figure out the reason. You only get what you can handle and you can handle this and you can defeat it! Keep up the the fight - you are all an inspiration to all!

Hope to see you soon.

Love, Gretchen Schmuck Warner

Hey! Yesterday, someone from lifenet came, and I saw a lung from someone who smoked two packs a day, and a heart from someone whos arteries were cloged. It was really cool! We also saw other things, but I don't remember what they were. I just wanted to tell you that! I love you, I love you, I love you! Alex
