Day 2 in Eden

We're here with Dave. He has an I.V. of nutrients in his arm. Has a cheshire grin on his face with all the attention from the pretty nurses.

Bean and I met some nice family of patients being treated for ALS. One is a young single girl from Paraguay named Cindy whose mother is being treated for ALS. Please keep Dave's roommate Jerry and his family in your prayers. Jerry's ALS has affected his speech. We know that at least 4 out of 8 patients here are ALS patients.

The ratio is 70 staff to 8 patients so he is definitely getting good care. There is at least 1 nurse in his room at all times. When we say room we mean more like a resort room with a beautiful view of the Carribean Sea. The clinic is renting the resort space- the Don Quixote Resort in Consejo, Belize.

Beanie figured out how to call from computer to phone using Yahoo Messenger. Dave has called his family for about 1 cent a minute. Pretty Cool! Tami- we will call tomorrow between 4 and 7. Your dad missed you but left a message.
Keep on blogging!! And praying! Love Cindy, Dave, and Beanie

AH MAN! You were the 777-777-7777 number that I missed! Darn it! Well I will be waiting patiently between those times tomorrow for your call. Can't wait!

Dad, I can see that $H!T eating grin on your face as the women wait on you hand and foot! I'm sure if nothing else, that part of the trip was well worth it huh??? LOL

Talk to you tomorrow. Oh if Joe didn't already tell you, he has Int'l calling on his cell. (not sure you need it anymore though)

Love you

Hi Uncle David,
Matthew misses you and often talks about going to "Uncle David's house" and he says, "I miss Lucky" a lot too. We always have you in our prayers and hope you are feeling comfortable. And, it's okay to look at the nice nurses; keeps you young. Yvonne has all of her resident's praying for you at Holy Family Manor, so that's 200 more prayer warriors. Take care.

Love Michael & Family

Dave & Cindy,
This blog is really great. Whoever had this idea, thank you, because it really is wonderful to be able to check in on you and read how you are doing. Sounds like a beautiful spot in the world to be getting treatment. We will be checking back very frequently to read the progress. Hope all is well and we will have you in our thoughts and prayers. :)

9 to 1 Ratio ! ! ! Not bad odds . . . Enjoy it, you're paying for it ! ! ! Hope you are able to listen to some music while you are being soothed by the tropical views. Who knows, maybe everyone will be enjoying it. More is on it's way ! ! ! We look forward to some pictures.

Rest assured, the prayer warriors have truly grown in numbers. We have all of you under the umbrella of prayer.

Love & Blessings, Bev
